Robert John Yeary was born November 19, 1930 in Cochran County. In 1948, after graduating from Morton, he moved to San Angelo, Texas and attended the San Angelo Business College. He began working for the Santa Fe Railroad in1949. He was drafted in to the Army in 1951 and discharged in 1953 when he began farming in Bailey County. The following year he enrolled in Texas Tech and received his Bachelor’s degree in 1958. Yeary married Maxine Bowers in 1956. He was appointed Cochran County Judge in October 1985. Judge Yeary died April 20, 2006
