Biography
Jorge De La Cruz was born on August 9, 1972.
De La Cruz entered office as Cochran County sheriff on January 1, 2017 and served seven years as sheriff, until his death on November 12, 2024.
During his seven years as sheriff, Jorge became well known throughout the community. He had an outgoing personality, loved his family, his community, and his country, and enjoyed a wide range of interests. He enjoyed photography and social media, where he shared moments from his life and work. Jorge also enjoyed building things, working with livestock and caring for his farm animals, especially his horse, Blackie Chan.
