Gregory Wayne Stewart was born on September 22, 1956, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Mr. and Mrs. Donald Stewart, now of Clayton, Oklahoma. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in Lawton, and then attended and graduated from Cameron University, also in Lawton, in 1980, earning a B. S. degree in Agronomy. He moved to Morton in 1982, employed with the County Soil Conservation Service.

Melanie Gay Pruitt was born on May 31, 1963, in Morton, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pruitt of Morton. She graduated from Morton High School in 1981. She met Greg in 1983 and they married April 27, 1984.

Greg is a member of the Volunteer Fire Department and both he and Gay enjoy motorcycle riding and various sports. Gay is attending South Plains College, majoring in nursing. They have one son, Jared Wayne, who is one year old.
